5:49 pm - Hi!
So I realized I havent posted in ages.
I'm back from Uganda (Trip #2). This time I brought back a spider bite on my ankle. It was swollen and RED. Its funny that I was mainly at the hotel in the city (Kampala) so I think I got bit in the room while sleeping. And luckily it was the last day. I noticed it at the airport, so I waited till I got home. Ah, good NY doctors! A little Cipro and I was right as rain.
The other high light was that we had two weddings to go to last weekend. One on Friday night on Long Island. And then one Saturday night in Greensboro, GA. So pretty much it was go to the wedding on Friday night, go home for a nap, catch a plane to Atlanta, drive an hour and half to Greensboro. Nap for an hour. Go to the next wedding. Crash for the night.
Sunday was spent at the pool and spa. Definitely a rest day.
We got up early on Monday and caught a 1230 flight back.
OK, the flights I have been taking have been 10 hours or more. These short 2 hour flights dont cut it. I just got comfortable and we were landing. Not fair.
And I think we had thee two stangest cabbies on Monday. The one in GA was fine. Good head on politics (he voted Obama believe it or not). Has some back problems from driving trucks. His house (*cough*double-wide trailer*cough*) burned down. That was all understandable.
Feeding Bigfoot behind his house? Sorry. TMI. He says he puts out bunches of bananas and Bigfoot leaves that little nub where the bunch meets.
The New Yorker cabbie was just the politcal opposite of his GA counterpart.
AND THEY BOTH WOULDNT SHUT UP!!!
Hee hee.

10:15 am - Off to Coudersport, PA....
and to open up my time capsule, aka Storage Unit. Finally going to clean it out. There's stuff in there I havent seen since 2004. I'll see it once more, and then the rubbish removal guys will cart it away. I just hope my old records are ok. I am taking my camera so this should be interesting.

I just got off my conference call about my scouting trip to Israel on Thursday. Oh what fun. I may or may not meet the heiress of Carnivale Cruise Lines. Oprah may or may not use the footage. We may or may not be able to shoot certain people.
Fun fun fun.

7:53 pm - Let the sneezing stop?
I dont know what happened. All I know is I took a shower and put clean clothes on. And then i started sneezing. Got nasal congestion. Massive headache.
And I was going to my Mom's for a turkey dinner. I had to carve too. Its hard to carve a turkey while sneezing.
And no, I didnt use a new soap. The laundry detergent has been the same for months. Dust? Mold? I dont know. I did clean up a lot of Hamlet puke this morning. But I showered right after that.
What happened? I dont think anyone will ever find out. I feel like crap. I cant breathe. And I have a headache. I been in bed since 630 PM.

12:41 pm - Come on, let them in!
So I was out doing errands and I could NOT pass a Taco Bell without getting lunch. No line. Right up to the register and I order to go. I take a step over and try to put my cash back in my wallet.
I hear the next group of customers ask if they can use the bathroom. The cashier says the bathroom is for staff only (she did say it as "el banyo"). She gets her boss and her boss is like pondering the question.
She then relents after thinking about it.
I finally get my money straight and turn around.
Three of New York's Finest are on line.
"Come on!" I exclaim. If you cant trust a cop to use your facilities, then you're screwed.

11:35 am - Nice holiday
It was a pretty good dinner. It was a pretty good gathering of family. It also gave me a pre-gathering look at the family shindig at our place on Sunday. Its going to be a lot of people in a small space.
Funniest moment? I was taking a pic of my 5 year old niece and 2 year old nephew by my Mom's tree. I got that shot. But TIMMY! was interested in my tripod and camera. He stood nose to lens and pushed the shutter button like 30 times. Thanks to digital I just let him just shoot and shoot and shoot. I now have a series of in-your-face-shots that will haunt him when he grows up.
And we got a bunch of 1st Christmas ornaments for Aimee from my folks. She's tickled pink. Not to mention we got each other some nice gifts. Yes, gifts. Aimee combined both holidays. 8 gifts. Open one a night till Xmas morning when you open the rest. I like that new tradition. I have to say we picked the perfect little gifts to fit our moods.
I'll have pics up later. Now its time to get ready for Sunday's Family Brunch.

10:58 am - Joanie's request.... LOL!
Here you go Joanie. We used two legs. You will see the "hole" in the leg glowing. That light is coming from the rod in the last picture. Its also a pic of the rod is after the drill hit it several times by accident.
( Some more leg shots.... )

2:15 pm - And here we are...
So here I am holding the slate board for the shoot on Sunday. It was pretty cool. The 90 pound leg was a little... strange. I think I was more freaked out with the dog head shoot.

( And if you're squeamish then dont look.... )

9:43 pm - Dog Head Part 2...
So I have a shoot coming up on Sunday. I was told its going to be like the dog head shoot (where you only need the head to do a dental cleaning video) except that we're doing a video on a new tool used in knee surgery. Except that you dont need a whole body to do a knee surgery video.
I only had one question. Is the leg going to be thawed out before we get there.
Pictures on Monday!

7:27 pm - Hi!
I tell ya, I been busy as a bee. Just wrapped up two days of shooting at a yashiva in Far Rockaway. The best part was that it wasnt through my old company. And the producer liked my work far better than her usual audio guy. (Maybe I'll get a call back!!!) I still have a shoot tomorrow in the studio and an edit session on Friday.
We just saw Rock Of Ages off-broadway. Its probably one of the best shows I ever seen. If you love 80's rock music (including hairbands!) then you'll love this. Drew and Prune, ya gotta see this show!!

10:54 am - Day 3
Day Three… Sunday the 28th. Before we head out to the village of Gift of Life’s 2nd Child, we took a ride to the Royal Tombs of the Uganda Kings. It is the home of the world’s largest hut. We met the Royal Thatcher. His job is to keep the grass roof in good condition. He trains his son. And his son trains his son. So right now there is three generations working on the tombs roof. There are 4 kings buried there. The last two living wives live in this hut. One king had 46 wives and the story goes “the latest wife is the favorite wife.” Good information on the history of Uganda’s royalty.
